We had fun making things and removing advertisement. We have been doing this for some years now, the ZAP Games renewed our motivation and during the last two weeks we changed about 40 ads in the Utrecht province. Destroyed some but mostly replaced them with our opinion, or art. We also saw some empty advertisement locations that was not claimed by us with the #ZapGames2025 tag.
We hope our actions inspired others to improve the public space by removing capitalist propaganda.

Brandalism against consumerism. With a small collective we are doing our version of brandalism removing and/or replacing as many advertisements as possible. We’re going for quantity and fun over quality. Our general message is against Black Friday! Informing people about the scam and that it is mostly big chain shops or online. Trying to convince people not to buy (new) or buy at their local shop. Or just have fun and remove some advertisement adding a funny sticker.
Many of our additions to the public space had our opinion on it, trying to inspire people to replace advertisement with things they care about. The ads we replaced have no locks, anybody could do it.
We hope to see more advertisement locations being used for art expo or opinion sharing by civilians
