Climáximo PT & Bordalo II hack digital billboards around Lisbon in a call for action on the climate.
In a statement alsongside a video released on Instagram they said:
“Climate change is real, and we must STOP IT BEFORE IT’S TO LATE.
Bordalo has collaborated with the Climáximo movement to alert people to the need to act, as authorities have not taken necessary measures to combat climate change.
Digital billboards invade our cities- instead of images of the real, scary world we have created we are given dodgy advertising. Instead of being provoked into action we are placated.
It’s time to unite and demand more from our politicians and international organisations. More conferences where promises are made and broken, where countries make individual promises that are woefully inadequate, these are no solution. We need more than that.”
