C.R.A.P (Creative Responses to Apocalyptic Programming) have taken action against the Boohoo Black Friday ads (and more general Black Friday propaganda) which are on screens all over Bristol.
They say: “Fast fashion fuels a quick and short cycle of used clothing. According to The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC) The UK exports 64.7 million dollars worth of used and unsold clothing to landfill in Ghana every year.
These many tonnes of mostly synthetic textiles, are having devastating impact on local community, ecosystems and wildlife.
The boohooMAN campaign prides itself on representation of black, brown and global majority faces, whilst continuing to contribute to ecocide and harming communities across the global south.
